Coach Updates – Coach Bazzo - TRACK
Thank you for the track uniforms – Adidas brand – got a good deal on the uniforms due to the bulk order.  92 boys and  about 70 girls are participating. There are 250 student athletes total including Middle School. They have won a couple of meets and are off to a good start. The  next home meet is against
Normandy on Wednesday. This weekend the meet is at Crater Stadium in Dover which is not far from the WartherMuseum. Nicole Hudek –Plain Dealer track athlete of the week. Hannah and Nichole were co-athletes of the meet. It’s great that there is so much participation from the students. The previous uniforms had lasted 5 years and the student athletes really like their new uniforms – THANK YOU VERY MUCH !. Warm-ups are holding up well, they  were purchased about 4 years ago. There are black sweats available for the student athletes to purchase or they can wear the warm-ups. When the new track and field is completed relays and invitational races can be held which can be profitable. Currently NRHS cannot hold relay and invitational races because of the current track configuration.

Athletic Director’s Report
Brad Klingbeil.
www.ohsaa.org, www.nrab.net  - All sports banquet 6/1/2010.

New Trustee position (s)
 Elaine Gatins/Kathy Modie –
Elaine gave a brief description – There would be  team liaison coordinator positions in addition to a team liaison for each team sport. Responsibilities  include but are not limited to – obtain  coach lists from Athletic director, get recommendations from coaches for team liaison, post list on web site for each team coach and liaison. All ideas are discussed with the team. The coordinator will go to each team liaison and ask for representatives for the fund raisers – hopefully we will have better results, encourage attendance at the meetings. Coordinator compile list of duties and responsibilities for each sport. Communicate information to/from teams and to booster meetings. Found contests to encourage memberships. Provide updates for the website – need to have someone responsible for each task so that the tasks will get done – for example team scores, pictures. Try to recruit in advance of the season- there approximately 50 sports if you identify the sport by gender, varsity, junior varsity, freshmen, 8th, or 7th grade.   The team liaison will be added as a  selection on the membership sign up form.  A lot of other school districts have the team liaison and liaison coordinator positions.

Car Raffle
Chrissy/Duke Boberek - Will have a report next month estimate about  $9000

Treasurer’s report – Mark Shaw  - report was reviewed and passed out.

Finance Committee –  Football uniforms $16,000 voted on and approved – 100 pairs of pants, 100 home jerseys, 100 away jerseys. The existing purple pants will not be replaced at this time. Swimming warm-ups $6500 – voted on and approved.

Night at the Races –Elaine Gatins November 20th save the date. The event will be at the Strongsville Recreation Center.

Nautica Charity – 3/25,3/26,3/27,3/28  John Vasil – ran with the shortest number of volunteers – 12 shifts were given away to a baseball organization. We will netting around $39,000. There is a new way of collecting fees for playing – raking the pot vs. collecting money from each player each hour. Thank you John for all of your hard work. If we are short volunteers again we should co-sponsor the event with the band. We will make the same amount of money and we would do it twice and make the same amount of money. The band has the 2nd week of November reserved. It is easier to raise money – you are not asking relatives and the community for funds.  If you are trustee – the obligation will be to work one shift at the Nautica Charity poker or to assist with the Night at the Races.

Scoreboard – Bill and Donna Sadowski will continue trustee positions  Bill Orr will continue soliciting the large ads on the score board that are due this year.

Membership – no report – Open Trustee Position

Website Administrator
John Vasil – web site went live 3/8 – encourage feedback – what we need more/less of on the web site. There were  3910 unique session hits in 34 days.  John has “hit” statistics available for each web page. John needs scores and he is finding pictures. There is a page to report scores – easy to fill out. John has rosters and coaches for each sport. We all agreed the web site looks great and is easy to navigate. We would like more visibility on the high school site, currently it is buried in extra curricular activities on the NRHS site. There is a very active 7th and 8th grade parent group. We  need to start getting them involved. We would like to put our banners up at the Middle school – nrab.net etc The banners are inexpensive because they are made by the students at a cost of approximately $50.  Open Trustee positions email will be sent out to all NRAB member if the verbiage is provided to John Vasil. Please send stories to John regarding the wine tasting event, charity poker, etc. Mailboxes can be connected to the web site for the various team liaison positions or for any fund raising event.

Goal of foundation is to raise  enough funds to replace the field and the track. Objective is to have something in place for the 2011 season.  Will need to have the funds and start working on the field by Spring 2011 in order to have it completed by Fall 2011.
